Podcasting slowly progressed with the evolution of audio blogging. Instead of jotting down their thoughts, individuals record themselves. In this regard, Adam Curry came up with a solution. He found a way to automate the syncing of the content to portable audio players. The term podcast then gained recognition and was used for the very first time in an article in ‘The Guardian’ in February 12, 2004. The term became synonymous to audio blogging. Ben Hammersley also used podcast to refer to amateur Internet radio. Currently, new technologies and ideas are emerging to pave the way for a more sophisticated podcasting technology.
